FITMAS.....week one of 12 weeks

What is FITMAS you say... Well... here it is Bikini or Bust is hosting this challenge 12 weeks of fitness before Christmas...So for Christmas I am giving myself HEALTH... yes this is perfect for me....getting my health back and what a great way to finish all I have accomplished with FITMAS

I found this challenge on twitter from @afterninetofive (Ashley) http://www.afterninetofive.net/ and what a great challenge for me No Desserts for 7 days... Starting today... this is going to be a hard week to do this as Saturday we have a wedding but I am sure there will be lots of fruit for me to choose from instead of having cake....
I am still joining in.. and I am hoping that I will be able to keep up this No Desserts for the rest of the month or even longer...

so this week I will stop eating sweats and I will start eating more fruit and still drinking more water...

Yesterday... I did not eat sweets... and today so far so good... so I am 2/7 YEAH!!!

I will continue on my work out regimen and continue pushing towards my bikini wearing goal in November

I am hoping with this challenge that it will keep me motivated and not eat sweets...

Well I can't believe that the reveal for Scrap~tures is here already...I have to say that using this kit has been fun fun fun...I love summer and what more could a summer lovin gal like me want then Echo Park Summer Days....

ps...in case you were wondering about my getting healthy and work out regiment I have decided to do Jillian Michaels ripped in 30 I loved the 30 day shred but 2 months of it I was ready to move onto something else... I started it July 1st and am loving it so far...it is intense but I am doing it..I will share my thoughts about it through out the month...

30 Day Shred {Week 5}
Well it is the end of the 30 Day Shred Challenge. I am so glad that I joined in on this challenge it was exactly what I needed!
I am proud of myself for waking up at 5:40am and getting the work out done everyday...yuppp everyday...for the next month I have not decided if I am going to do the ripped in 30 or no more trouble zones both by Jillian Michaels but I am doing something that is for sure...November will be here before I know it and I will fit into that bikini and rock it...With that being said...here are my results.... recap...

•Arms: {L} 12.5 {R} 12.5
•Legs: {L} 24.25 {R} 24.25
•Waist: 38
•Waist Lower: 44.5
•Hips: 43

I am soooo surprised. That Jillian was right if you follow this DVD you will see Results and that I did... you cant really tell by the photo but I can sure tell by my clothes... The capris I am wearing are a medium.. I have not worn a medium in a very very long time..
Here is my After photo. (taken by my 5 year old DH was not home)

My After Measurements:

I am not very comfortable revealing my weight but I am happy to announce that since the beginning of June and doing this challenge I have lost 5.5 pounds and a total of 14.5 pounds since starting the 30 day shred May 1st

I just want to thank Sarah from http://naptimemomtog.com/ for hosting this challenge without seeing your post on June 1st I am not sure what I would have done this past month...but having that motivation and other women doing this challenge certainly helped..

30 Day Shred {Week 4} Plus a couple of days

Yes...plus a couple of day...was suppose to do my weekly post on Thursday but it has been one of those weeks... Thursday I rode the "Big Bike" for Heart and Stroke..with my Friend Amanda and her Husband Brent for Inspire Marketing....it was so much fun..then Friday I went on a field trip with LittleKs Class...60 kids at a farm...what a fun day that was...and then Friday night Greg and I went to see USS ~ a Toronto Band at the Studio Theatre in Hamilton... and then YESTERDAY...Saturday...this co-insides with Re-Shaping it All...Yesterday Greg, the Boys and I were all baptised together...it was a great day...we really wanted Stephen to perform the service before he and his wife Pleuntje move to Belgium ... it was a great day... We will miss them...they leave on the 6th of July...and I think I have asked them that question 12 times already ... "so when are you leaving??"
Now on to Today...I have completed most of my goals...but with a busy week it was hard to do some of them...
But yes I have completed the Shred work out everyday this week... and to me that is the most important goal...
and on to this weeks goals....

is to continue continuing on... with all the goals... we are on the home stretch...and June 30th is around the corner... YEAH!! can't wait to see the difference in my measurements from June 1st to June 30th...

The best part of doing the challenge...is it is bettering me as a person..and I am only gaining confidence and something else to add a healthy lifestyle...

30 Day Shred {Week 3}

Week 3 plus a day...Yesterday at work was our year end celebration for the girls that attend school here so it was kind of a crazy day...so I did not get a chance to post so here it is....

Last week my goals re-cap
•Drink more water I am trying for 10 cups per day
•Do exercises at my desk during the day
•Wake up Earlier to do the 30day Shred DVD before work...and on weekends... 5:40 am...(AHHH)
•Instead of sitting down and watching the boys soccer...I am going to walk the field...at least at practises
And All Completed.... YEAH!!!

I am excited to see my results in 14 days....

My Goals for next week: Along with continuing with my previous weeks goals I would like to.......

•Eat more Fruits I don't get enough....
•No eating after 8pm (I was doing really well with this and have slipped a few times so this is the week to get back on track)
•Add another few 100 steps to my day....

This is the type of Bikini that I would like to wear on our Family Vacation in November. I can see myself wearing this and I know that I will be there. November is 5 months away...

Scrap~tures June Reveal... A little late but better then NEVER.....

As soon as I saw this kit I knew I wanted to do a layout about my new life...and these are my new daily tools...how great that this paper is called Simple Stories Life Documented..My life is simple..and with a little help (ok a lot of help) from Jillian Michaels and her DVD 30 Day Shred. I have started a new out look on life and getting fit...
For my base paper I used Colorful (Colourful **If you are from Canada like me...) Life how perfect that there is a slight calendar faded behind...and then for my accent paper I used 100% real life... and yes that is me.. 100% real...I used the Ranger Cranberry Colour wash on some of my letters and on the Fancy Pants Artists Edition Pinking Edge Coffee Filters... I love how this makes them pop off the page...I also was able to use the Copics Multiliner Sepia Pen to write the 30 days of the month on one of the calendars on the background paper...these papers are certainly perfect for my simple type of scrapbooking I can not wait to dig into the rest of the kit... But I am saving it for LauraLee's Blog Class... Check back to the Scrap~tures blog for more details....

Here is an up close look at the vibrant colour the Ranger Cranberry Colour Wash Spray is...I love the dark vibrant colour it created...with just a few sprays...

And here is a look at the Copics Multiliner Sepia Pen...I love that it was thin...and able to write inside the little calendar boxes....

So...On to some news about Scrap~tures...I am sure most of you have heard that Denise...has sold her business...To Christa...I am so glad that Scrap~tures is not going anywhere and that we will still be able to get these awesome kits...Denise you have been a great FRIEND to work for I have loved every kit that you ever sent me.....Thank you and all the best in your new journey of life where ever that will lead you...And I look forward to more kits to come...

30 Day Shred {Week 2}

I can't believe we are at week 2 already... and today was the last day of work out ONE!! I love workout ONE!!! I have been able to keep up and do it everyday...Still doing the beginner push ups..but I do try one or two regular ones...but that is as far as I get...Bring on Level TWO....

I have to say that I am proud of myself for someone who never used to work out at all to be on Day 9 of Month number 2 of the 30 day Shred...Wow that is a huge accomplishment... I have the motivation and the drive to succeed in this adventure. I have had a lot of help.. after reading Re-Shaping it all by Candace Cameron Bure http://www.reshapingitallwithcandace.blogspot.com/
which opened my eyes and kept them open...And of course the support of Greg (My DH) and the boys...How could I fail... I have always said that the only thing I am going to gain through all of this is confidence and that I have...

Ok...So this is a big step for me to put this out there for everyone... {Week 1}

There you have it... I am super excited to see the results at the end of this month...
Last night during my work out I was super proud of myself that I was able to complete level 1 with out stopping... Bring it on Jillian...
**I completed the 30 day shred last month with results of an 8 pound loss however I am sad to say that I did not take my measurements...but my clothes need a belt to hold them up... so that is a great motivator to keep going... along with this I will continue to seek guidance through reading Re-Shaping it all...

My goal is to be bikini ready for NOV. for my Brother in Laws Wedding in Punta Cana....

Re-Shaping it all Day 18

This is not Scrapbook related but I guess in a way that it is because I am documenting me...and I plan on doing a before and after layout...so I guess this could turn crafty...but for now ... on with the post

I don't really think that this was a coincidence I believe I was lead here by God but call it what you want, I started officially working out and eating better May 1st.... and I recently descovered the 65 days to ReShaping It All.. and it started on May 1st......hmmmmm

so...I decided I had to join in...the blog... and following on Twitter... #reshapinginitall
I am almost done reading the book and love the motivation and the determination that Candace has given me... since starting May 1st I have lost 5 pounds... but the best part is that I am feeling great... and that to me is all the motivation I need... July 4th will be here before I know it and there will be less of me but a more confident me... I am even going to share photos soon...

Re-Shaping it All .....and 30 Day Shred

I have been reading.... "ReShaping It All" by Candace Cameron Bure.... and gained a lot on inspiration and motivation... SO then I decided to finally crack open my Copy of the 30 day shred DVD by Jillian Michaels... I am on Day 8 and wowsers...it is hard... but I am doing it... So that is what I have been up to lately... ReShaping ME....
And I have just read that there is a 65 Days to ReShaping it all....I am hoping it is not too late to join in... I am really enjoying her book and recommend it......

April 10 2011 Scrap~tures Reveal....

Scrap~tures April Scrapbook Kit... Consisted of MME Papers line Stella and Rose I have to say that I have always been a fan of the texture and weight of MME papers. The patterns of the papers are super fun, small and subtle enough that they don't over-power the photos. I found that it all works perfectly with every type of photos from Black and White to Colour.And that is what I did. I created this layout of Kurt using Black and white photos.I took a little bit more of an artsy step (or Jump for me then normal) with this layout and cut the paper and then pieced it together with ribbon and eyelets. I loved the look of the "Numbers Paper" the blue side and was super excited to use it and of course the title block "so much more DELIGHTFUL than you know" worked perfectly for my title with these photos.

For my next layout...I created this layout "balloons belong in church" with the Exclusive Sketch for Kit subscribers only, Created my Kristine Davidson. The Sweet Stripe paper worked well with my photo of Kurt holding his Balloon at the Thinking Day Service. I also added to the embellishment a stamped image from one of the doilies in the stamp set provided with the kit. The ribbon was part of an old Scrap~tures kit that I had left over and added some bright glittery thickers. (thanks Shannon I love them)

Using the Scrap~tures card kit, I created this layout using the Scrapbook and Cards Today April Calendar Sketch I have to admit (BLUSHING) that this was my first attempt at using Copics and I am hooked... I was shocked at how bright the colours are. I also went a few steps further and cut out some of the petals and added some Liquid applique for the centre of the flower...but that is not all I also added some rock candy crackle paint to make the flower shine and crackle...I loved the saying A mother’s love does not divide between her children it multiplies. And of course mine is X2

My Birthday....

My Birthday was on March 21st....and what a day it was...from all the birthday wishes on Facebook, Twitter and Scrap~tures to the cards and phone calls I have to say I am one lucky girl to have such a great group of friends... and of course my family... but the best gift of all is the love from my boys....big and little... Greg took the boys out shopping and bought me the Kinect for the Xbox... I am still wondering in they had other ideas why I would like this for my birthday but it is certainly the thought that counts... and of course I love it.....it is so much fun... and something we can all participate in which is even better....

Here is me with my newly opened gift... you can see the boys in the background....mmmmm what are they thinking... yes I am sharing with them LOL!!

here are just a few pictures taken .... and of course I will be scrapbooking these photos for my March project 12 2011 layout just have to find time to print the pictures and create....

The Super Moon March 19 2011

By definition, a supermoon is simply a full moon that happens to be close to the earth.

On March 19, the supermoon will be one of “rare size and beauty,” said NASA’s website.

The Super Moon..... was on display for the all the world to see...and I was able to capture it in photos....I set up my camera gear at about 7:30pm at a look at point over looking Lake Ontario which in my opinion was the perfect spot to take photos of the moon rise....

I love that with project 12 I can capture everyday life and document in monthly...I can't believe that SB&CT have done it again with this lovely February sketch so using This Sketch ....

I used the new Twig line from LYB I love how it fit with my theme of my pictures.... Can't wait to take my March photos to create with the next inspirational sketch....

March 2011 Scrap~tures Reveal

March 2011 Scrapbook kit Features Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper line and also brings something new an exclusive sketch created by Kristine Davidson of Creative Scrappers. There will be a new exclusive sketch every month and will only available to kit subscribers. (yet another great reason to subscribe besides all the great product you get in each kit every month)

I used the Ginger pattern paper as well as the 3 colours of Bazzill Cardstock (Aqua, Butter Cream and Watermelon) they complemented this kit perfectly. The embellishments I used were 12" of the Starfish Breeze Trim and to create the look I got with the Heidi Swapp Glimmer Glass Flocked Tabs I first adhered it to the Aqua Bazzill cardstock and then added the Golden Goddess Glitter Glam by Tattered Angels to make the white flock pop wow did it ever bring out the image. I also added my Title Captured Moments with Alphas (not include in the kit but thought they went perfectly with the paper)…. I am fortunate enough to give you my take on the sketch with this reveal and here it is……

For my next layout that I created using the kit…. I used the black side of Bette to create this layout, and part of the Borders page for my Title. I highlighted the centre of the flowers in the title with the Patina Stickles. And of course the entire package of Petaloo Chantilly Velvet and Lace Flowers...I so never thought I would ever use these flowers but so glad that I had them to finish off this layout....I love this photo of my husband and I and this will be him and I always…..

One other layout that I want to feature in this blog post has nothing to do with the reveal but a challenge that I post monthly on the Scrap~tures forum and that is a one word Challenge….a little bit about the challenge is that a new word is given each month and either you are to take a photo or use a photo from your stash that interprets the word and then to scrapbook it with that word somewhere on the layout or as part of your title. I think I must sound like a broken record.....because I seem to always repeat myself...month after month but Scrap~tures February kit was so awesome and of course my favourite (that is where I seem to repeat myself because they are all my favourites).....from the Paper... Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate to the Alphas that are included to the tool and all the floss... wow the sew easy tool... FUN FUN FUN.. is what I have nicknamed this kit... I had sew much fun sewing.. and creating with this kit... I don't have very much to show for it.. but I do have these 2 layouts that I have created with this kit....

For my birthday related project is has 2 parts... 1 project and 1 yummy cake recipe

my project is a birthday/anniversary perpetual calendar (using scraptures December card kit which can be found here.... http://scraptures.ca/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=33&products_id=238 )

I love the idea of having all the important dates such as Birthday(s) and Anniversary(s) at a quick glance....
I made this perpetual desk calendar with very little supplies...
1) printable calendar
2) 5x7 clear picture frame
3) 5x7 piece of pattern paper and matching card stock (I used the December Card Kit as it went perfectly with the theme)
4) ribbon
5) Bull Dog Clip (office supply store)

the instructions are super easy, print and cut your perpetual calendar to size cut your pattern paper to fit the frame slide into the frame embellish with a little ribbon, and attached the months with a bull dog clip....this makes it easy to switch out the months....

These are just supplies that I have had on hand... you could use anything to attach your calendar too... Chip Board, make it into a mini album, Clip Board, you could even make a board book out of the calendar if you like....

And now onto the second part of my post.... what is a Birthday Party with out a yummy yummy Birthday cake or in the case of this post a rainbow cake...

Scraptures ~ reveal (a little late)

Ok...so the Scrap~tures reveal is on the 10th...but with busy with work and snow storms I forgot to update my blog....
so this months kit was brought to you by...GLITZ HOOPLA... ohhhh such pretty paper...

it was such a fun paper line to create with.... and I have so many ideas to create with it...

here is my layout "Acceptance" which also ties in with the class One Little Word ~ that I am taking along with 2000+ other people over at Big Picture Classes ...

January 4th 2011 Scrap~tures Anniversary Challenge

It is my day to post an anniversary challenge over at Scrap~tures.... so in keeping with the theme....Of Anniversary Year Gifts....I chose electrical appliances over Linen....

The Fourth anniversary is celebrated by Linen(silk) or electrical appliances ....

Four is my favourite number ... so I got thinking about what is my favourite appliance is .... and of course it is my Keurig ... it is one of the best inventions in the world ... with a few simple steps ... I have fresh hot coffee, tea, hot chocolate, hot apple cider and of course even ice tea WOW... so I picked a sketch from Creative Scrappers ... not because of the number it is but because there are 4 little pictures and in keeping with the number 4 how could I not ... lol
My Challenge to you is to create a layout with using your favourite appliance and there has to be a spot where there is a collection of 4 photos ...

Acceptance

My one little word ... is Acceptance

I am not really sure how Acceptance came to be my word ... but when I first started to think about doing this ... it was the first thing that came to my mind and thought it was a perfect word so you can say that it just came to me or that I have been thinking about acceptance in my life for a while now but what ever the reason it is it does not matter ... so that is that ... my word is Acceptance ...

"One little word can make a big impact on your life" ... and that is so what I am counting on and by taking Ali's Class through Big Picture Classes http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/index.php I am sure I will be able to accomplish this ...

Part of our Album Ali wanted us to include a recent picture of ourselves ... so in keeping with my word I thought what a better photo then one of myself looking at in the mirror ... kind of a different type of Acceptance ... so I took this photo Yesterday ...

January 2011 is a special month here at Scrap~tures – we’re one year old! Thanks to your support and participation we’ve had a great first year and want to show our gratitude by celebrating all month long with games, prizes, a blog hop, AVATAR challenges and lots of inspiration and fun!

We have been working hard behind the scenes to provide inspirational challenges, based on “traditional” anniversary gift lists, that will run all month long. For every challenge that you complete (and post in the particular challenge thread AND note in your “birthday book” (master challenge list thread) you can count a candle! Yes, that’s right, for every challenge you complete, you can take the little candle blinkie to put in your siggie line! How fun (and cute) is that?(and that's the answer to "why all the candles?")

AND!! if that isn’t enough, we’re going to have an ANNIVERSARY CROP the weekend of January 21, 22 and 23 so mark your calendars and invite your friends! The crop challenges will start with an early bird challenge (you’ll love it, I guarantee it ;-) ) on Friday at noon and go all weekend long.

The crop will give you many opportunities to gather more candles for your birthday book. Not to worry though, at the end of the month, we’ll give you some time to “catch your breath” and catch up with more candles if you want!!

Why all the candles??? Because, February 1, we will announce our Anniversary Prize Winners! Yes plural!! There will be a grand prize and two runner-up prizes. Denise will be announcing how you can be eligible for the prizes so stay tuned and in the meantime, collect those candles!

Come to the party and be ready to meet some “old” friends of ours who are celebrating with us this month and some of you will be surprised I'm sure by "who" you see....

Scrapbook & Cards Today Calendar.....

I recently received my shipment from Scrap~tures and in addition to my kit I ordered the Calendar from Scrapbook & Cards today... I am super excited to have an inspirational calendar hung up in my scrapbook room and yes it is hung up...here are the picture to prove it....

so when I am sitting at my computer desk all I have to do is look up and there it is... I used big photo corners to adhere it to my cabinet...and the best part about this calendar is that it has the project 12 date stamped right on the calendar so I wont miss the revel this year...
Also... I have posted a monthly challenge over at Scrap~tures using the sketches from the calendar come over and join in the fun... can't wait to start creating with these great monthly sketches....Ahhhh and December is almost over....

Scrap~tures December 2010 kit reveal.....

Oh wow.....like I have said....this has been a crazy few months...but I still have been able to get in a little...and I mean a little scrappin time...and that has helped me cope and manage a few unexpected life turns....I was so excited to have this kit in my hot little hands and I knew right away what I was going to do.... and that was prepare for Christmas 2010 with layouts that all I have to do is insert the photos and my layouts would be done... because unlike Creative Keepsakes Magazine...Christmas 2010 has not happened for us yet....lol...

so with this fabulous kit that Scrap~tures put together...I wont make you wait any more... this kit is.....Making Memories Noel line....and a alot of fun extras....

This is the first layout I created with this kit... My intentions with this layout is to insert a family photo of the 4 of us on Christmas Morning......

This next layout.... I created with the idea of having a picture of each of the boys by the Christmas tree and then a picture of them together....lets hope it works out...

And my third and final layout I used sketch number 132 from Creative Scrappers (check out their blog for more great sketches.... http://creativescrappers.blogspot.com/ ) as soon as I saw this sketch I knew that this product line would be perfect for it...and it was...my plan for this layout is to have family photos inserted into them...my older brother and his wife are coming here for Christmas...so it will be exciting to have far away family close for the holidays....and the layout all finished to print the photos and capture the moments....forever...

I still have tons and tons of paper and ideas left...but again life has gotten in the way...Tis the season I am sure...but with the New Year fast approaching I am looking forward to some me time and time to scrapbook again.....YEAH!!! oh look out for the Graphic 24 mini envelope challenge I have almost completed.....the possibilities that this album has is endless... but I do have to say that the Glitter American Crafts paper will go untouched for a little while longer...it is just tooo pretty to cut....

Happy Scrappin and Happy Christmas to everyone and their families... I wish nothing but the best for all of my scrappin buddies and other family and friends for 2011.....

well maybe a few... I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted on my blog... Sorry life has just been crazy busy....and that is that...
but in the crafty world.. I have done a craft sale at a local elementary school and it was so fun.. I love to create and this helped with the creative side for weeks and weeks...of preparation...and of course my monthly commitments for Scrap~tures....
Speaking of Scrap~tures... Denise has created a new way for scrapbookers/card makers to get involved in creating with the Kits.. and that is...with her new guest creative team member... here are the details...

Note from Scrap~tures...
We have some exciting news about our Guest ST program! Since all of you wonderful ladies have been doing a superb job filling up the gallery with your artwork, we thought we should take advantage of your talents and get you more involved in helping to keep our kit club to thrive. So here is the plan...

Starting with our November kit, we are going to revamp the guest ST program to include YOU, and here is how...Send me a PM to let me know if you are interested in having a turn at being our guest on the ST and I will add you to the list. Each month, I will choose one of you to help promote the scrapbook kit for that month. So when I send the kit to the ST members to prepare for the reveal I will send you a kit as well! You do not need to be a kit subscriber to participate!The kit will be no charge to you but here are the requirements

a) you must agree to create at least 3 layouts and whatever else you can with the kit.
b) you need to take photos of your artwork and email them to me by a specified date.
c) you need to post a challenge on the 1st and 15th of the month
d) promote the kits as much as you can on your blog, the Scrap~tures Facebook Page, etc.
e) participate in the forums as much as you can during your guest month.

Also, during your guest month, you will also be entitled to a 20% dicount in the Scrap~tures store!

We will create a new forum for you as our "Guest of the Month" where other club members can get to know you better!

So what do you say? If this is something you would like to participate in, please send me a PM or an email and I will add you to the list. Everyone on the list will have a turn!!

The Reason WHY I scrapbook....

It is with a very heavy heavy heart that I write this blog post... My Grandma Joyce.... Passed away in her sleep on Saturday October 23 2010.....My Grandma was such a wonderful women of faith and you could always count on seeing a smile on her face and of course full of love for each and everyone of her family and friends.... We are all going to miss her more than anyone can ever imagine.....I am so happy to have had my Grandma in my life she taught me so much.....and for that I will never ever forget her...Grandma has suffered from Alzheimer's Disease....and is now in heaven with all of her brothers, sisters and friends and of course Grandpa....

I scrapbook...so my kids will learn all about family... because this disease has robbed them from knowing who she was.... but through scrapbooking I can share that with them through the pictures and my memories of her....

October 2010 Scraptures Reveal

I seem to be saying this every 10^th of the month…but I so can't believe how quickly it arrives…. So…here is my reveal of the Scrap~tures October 2010 Kits… I loved the colours of the SEI Moonrise paper… and all the added extras this scrapbook kit sure was full of fun…….here is a layout I did with using a Creative Scrappers Sketch Number 123 http://creativescrappers.blogspot.com /2010/09/sketch-123.html

And another Layout…. The sayings in the kit said it all when it came to the picture I took of my son Kevin….

I really loved the metal embellishments that also came in this kit… almost too pretty to use… so instead of putting it in a layout…I saw this bookmark on another site and thought mmmm this is a good way for me to see this embellishment all the time… so I created one myself….all I did was loop a ribbon through the centre and tied a knot on each end...and done... a bookmark...

I also created a card using the SEI Moonrise paper and then incorporated the Stamp Set that was in the Card Kit….here is the card…yupp I created my own embellishments…using the microbeads and some glue dots….

Up next is a layout I created with yet another sketch using the Card Kit……this sketch was from PageMaps in the October 2010 release ..... http://www.pagemaps.com/

Reveal Day...

Wow I so can not believe that it is reveal day already the 10th of September but where oh where did our summer go....right spending it on the soccer field yupp every night we are at the soccer field coaching or cheering...or both...with boys with an age gap like we do...they are not on the same nights... so with a game and a practise each week...that meant we were at the field mon-thus ohhhh but if there was a rain out game...we would have a friday game as well and that occurred a few times this summer....grrrrrr Soccer is all over as of this Saturday.. because of course both of our boys are in the championship....one at 9:30 and the other at 11:45 all day at the field....
oh well enough babbling about that... you would think with all this time on the soccer field that I would have a few layouts of soccer...well nope...I guess I am just all soccered out... LOL!!! but there will be some soon I promise... I can not forget about the summer of 2010....

On to Scraptures September kits....the scrapbook kit was fun regardless of them not being about soccer...The Girls Paperie On Holiday line and even though I don't have girls (LOL) it was fun to create with it.. and here is on of my layouts from the kit....

love the Ranger - Crackle Paint that was included in the deluxe kit... certainly gives great texture to the title...

Here is another layout titled Walk with us... that I created using the kit... and of course it is also a sketch challenge in the forum so check it out here to see what you have to do to possibly win a prize....

Ohhh and also included in the deluxe kit was a Maya Road triangle canvas album or a chipboard album... I got the canvas album.. and I decided to make a banner out of it.. and here it is.....of course it is using the crackle paint... I love how when the paint dried the canvas curled a little... and of course just that little bit of crackle....

the banner spells out SMILES - and of course if you get the card kit... the stamp set included in the card kit is Insightful Meadow By Unity Stamp.... and one of the sayings that comes with it is....smiles are proof of everyday miracles and my boys are proof of my everyday miracles... and I stamped that saying on the last S... here are the close ups of the letters.... I used the alphas that came with the kit and versa marked them.. and used the white embossing powder that came with the card kit....

for more of what I did with the card kit...here is my layout BEAUTY.... another saying that was in the set was....all our knowledge has it origin in our perceptions...and how perfect for my perception on beauty... sitting in the Mountains in PA USA on vacation watching the trees turn...and of course my boys fishing... but this is true beauty... our world.. and of course vacation......I did a lot of distressing in the layout which is hard to see but even the photo is distressed... and the letters too... The image I stamped with Versa mark first and then used some chalk to help it stand out off of the cardstock...

the card kit came with something that I have never seen before.. it was gold butterfly dazzles... and they have holes in them so you can stitch them for an added technique... so of course I tried it.. it did not take long at all.. and then of course I had to chalk the floss because I only had white... so the chalk added to it even more.. and helped match the layout better...

I used a lot of things for the card kit and the scrapbook kit together this time around... and it helped because it all seem to go really well together... and to me that is the beauty of kits... YEAH!!! I love kits... another A + in my eyes.... can't wait to get my hands on the next kit...

August scrapbook kit has got to be my all time favourite.. and with it being BoBuny helps for sure.... but it was so fun to work with to showcase my boys... this Block Party kit is top notch... as well as it being BoBunny it was also Scrap~tures first ever Deluxe kit option.. which means there was some added goodies if you wanted them.. of course I wanted them.. more goodies for me to learn to create with the better... in the deluxe kit there was a Clearsnap Spritz Spray, Block Party Jewels... and a 1/2 pgk of Tim Holtz Idiology Alphabet Soup Grungebard...all that went really well with this kit.... and here is what I did with this kit....

For this layout "a closer view"... it is a self portrait of my oldest boy.. I love how his eyes just pop... and then of course being able to see part of his cheeky smile.. I love it.. what a better way to show "a closer view" of him then with this paper.. I used 2 of the Party Notes as part of my background... so many different ways to use them and this is one of them...... and then I sprayed the grudgeboard with the Spritz spray... and then used the Ranger Inksentials white pen (included in the kit) to outline the letters.. and it made them POP!!! I also sprayed the card stock with the Spritz as well to add to the layout....

bubbles Layout I used a sketch... from Creative Scrappers #114 as soon as I saw the sketch I knew I had to try it with this kit.. and it worked so well... although I added more photos.. that is the beauty of sketches... they are so easy to make your own....

Soccer Star Layout I used another sketch this one is from Sarah's Sketches collection..... all of her sketches can be found at http://redoaklines.com/sketches/ I used #6...all I did was flip it so I had my photos at the top.. and it worked so well with this kit.. the stars to boot....

This has to be my favourite layout out of this kit... I love the I was able to showcase my boys... together like this.. in "The Brother Club"....this photo showcases the fun relationship my boys have with each other... and this kit is a great way to preserve these memories. to create the embellishment on the top right corner I layered the circles that are included in the chipboard set something that I just thought of really.. me.. just thought of...

I still have lots left... but ran out of time for the reveal.. but this will be certainly a kit with nothing left.. that I can guarantee....

and now .....
The Card Kit this month featured WRMK - Vintage Blue I loved being able to use this "card kit" to create this layout... I used the dandelion stamp to create the image appear as if it is being blown off the page.... and for my card.... I kept it simple with a little fussy cutting and added a Happy Birthday stamped image... but I flocked it.. yupp I flocked it.. I love how flock just adds the little extra to an image.. I know it is hard to see but trust me in real life... it is pretty....

This month is the beginning of Kelly's 3 month guest design team with us over at Scrap~tures... I am so glad that she is joining us...she is very talented check out Kelly on her blog here :

but I do not know where the time goes......
My younger brother... and his family are visiting us from Taiwan... I am spending as much time with them as we can... makes for busy weekends.. because I have to work during the week so our weekends are spent with them..... but they are here for 5 weeks... and this is the bright brown eyed girl that we have been waiting to play with for a long time...

This is Kadiya ... My brother Don and his Wife Kitty's Daughter... she is so sweet...

Today has kind of been a down time day.. if you can call it that... I visited my Grandma in the nursing home with BigK... Grandma has Alzheimer's... and it is bad.. but... I did get a glimmer of recognition when I said Hi Grandma.. it is Laurie.. she smiled... and said something but is almost non communicative... which is another hard thing... then after our visit.. I came home and Greg.. (my DH) told me that my older brother will be arriving at 2am.... ahhhh so had to get their bed all ready.. and make cookies with the boys... ..

WOW~

we are already at the 10th of July... and you know what that means.. it is reveal day at Scrap~tures..... These kits that Denise put together first lets talk about the scrapbook kit it is so summery... and so fun.. and so easy... I had a great time working with it... once I set my eyes on this kit I knew what I wanted to do... from the Alphabet Page turning it into a mini ABC album for Kevin....to all the wonderful sunny colours and fun pages... with all the fun summer fun we have had so far....
here are a few of my projects....

and now the card kit... a few months ago I asked Denise if I could get the card kit along with my scrapbook kit... and I would convert it into layouts.... cuz I am not much of a card maker unless I have to... so this is my second kit.. .and I had fun with the Jillibean button stamps that were included in the kit to create this layout of my cute little button.....

Of course it could not be a card kit with out me creating a card... so here are the ones I made...

WOW... it has been a long time since I posted...

I have not been creating much this last little while..and trust me it is not for the lack of wanting to it is more the lack of time... things have been crazy with our lives lately....... between the boys soccer... DH exam and work....life... and unexpected surprises... wow...
while I don't normally post alot about our lives here just mainly my creative nonsense... I thought I would use this time to reflect on the last few weeks....

Soccer... While littlek's team is undefeated... bigK's team has yet to win a game.. but... they are all playing awesome... and I am so proud of them....

now onto some fun stuff...for me that is...

I will be taking another photo seminar Duncan and Wright.. it is a portraiture workshop with Paul Sparrow as the instructor and a wonderful spot to take photos.. The Royal Botanical Gardens.....

A little life update... my cousin who was in the motorcycle accident is recovering slowly... I am so proud of his attitude... and how he is so positive...and for his new wife... and how she is taking care of him... Love you both...

My Brother... my older brother... and his wife.. have just announced that they are expecting a baby in February... I am so excited to be an Auntie again... how fun...

My Brother...the younger one... and his family are coming home for a visit soon... they live in Taiwan so visits are few and far between... it has almost been 2 years since we have seen them...

My Husband... has been studying for his CFQ exam for his millwright license...although he has just finished writing it... he is not too sure on how he did...we will find out in 10 days.... but I am so very proud of him for even taking the steps to get this far..... LOVE YOU.....

VACATION:.....I am heading up soon to visit with my Brother (the older one) and his wife on the farm...the boys and my cousin and 100 baby chicks will be making the 8 hour drive... YIKES!!! yes I said it 100 chicks....DH is staying home to look after our own farm LOL!!

So that is us in a nutshell... well sort of.. I will be creating soon.. I have a few teachers gifts to finish.. and hopefully some time to get my 105 days of summer layouts done... for more info on that check out Scrap~tures forum here.....

Winner of the BLOG HOP... and LIFE....

Ok I have a winner of the BLOG HOP... yuppp Shannon it is you... I will be sending out a RAK to you shortly....

and now onto LIFE....

Ok so this is really hard for me to post... we have had such a busy time with life right now... Between DH trying to study for his millwright license and the boys in soccer and work and home and weddings.. and weddings.. and family emergencies.. wow when do we have time to breathe... well after Friday... I am making time... my cousin who was in a motorcycle accident on Friday... less then 24 hours before he was going to get married... because someone thought it would be a good idea to turn right in front of him... umm nope not so smart.... it is a miracle that he had no broken bones.... only severe road rash.... which needed over 250 stitches to stitch him up... I am so very proud of him... he did not let this accident get in his way of marrying his love.. he did not complain once... he stood for the entire service and even danced with his bride and his mommy... lots of tears and lots of prayers... he has a tough recovery ahead... but he will be fine.... and their wedding will be one that we will never ever forget...

June Reveal 2010 - Scrap~tures Crate Paper - Brook

Oh... I love using this paper... I could not tell you how much fun I had distressing with this paper.. and the look that it gave...

here is my First layout for the reveal..

This is a picture of my oldest son Kurt and he is just laughing away at nothing really but obviously at something... I love his laugh... and I took this picture with the Brook paper and had fun. I took the paper and distressed it with the edge of my scissors and then once I got the look I wanted I went one step further ans used my Mini Mister and sprayed it with water.. once it dried.. I go this look.... I also adhered the Jump, Dance, Play and Run to chipboard and distressed the edges even further...to keep the look constant. I love how this layout turned out...

Here is my Second Layout.....

I kept this one simple with the focus on the photo.. I love the border strips that came with this kit... and I what I did below the picture I just mirrored it and put that on the top corner to balance it... as for the title.. For You Mom this is what Kevin said to me as he was handing me the dandelion.. he loves to give me dandelions... Thank you Kevin...

And here is my Third Layout.....

I loved the distressed look so I had to do it again.. and this layout I did a little bit more of it.. I had this picture of Kevin and really wanted to scrapbook but did not really know what to do until I got this paper.. and it was so perfect for this picture... A Penny For Your Thoughts... If I really knew what he was thinking at this time... This picture was taken prior to journaling... I wrote my thoughts under the boarder at the bottom....

BoBunny...Layout Challenge...

Photography Seminar...with Pictures...

Photography Nature Seminar - Duncan and Wright - Instructor Paul Sparrow...

Well all I can say is what a day we had at Mountsberg Conservation Area ... we could not had asked for a better day.. the sun was shining...and the temperature was perfect at 18degrees .... and by default my photos where critiqued by Paul Sparrow himself... We started off our morning with an in class session on what we were going to be doing for the day.. and received tips on how to get the perfect shot... so with that under out belts we then we went out into the field, me in tow with a loner Sigma Lens....150-500mm and my brand new tripod... and off we went to first shoot Flora and Fauna...and that is where I took shots like this...

yupp that is a snake in the water...

This one I was told had great abstract and it was beautiful and it had nice things going on...with a little cropping it would be worth enlarging to print..

This is my favourite out of the Flora and Fauna session

We hiked to another spot to take more flora and fauna pictures... here are some shot from that spot...

Then off wen hiked to the Swallowville... wow let me tell you the 150-500 sigma lens that I was using was perfect for this.. I got up close to these birds without invading their space.... and here are some on my favourite photos...

I will be posting pictures of the birds of prey... which was our afternoon session... soon..

All I am going to say is WOW....I had a great time with my friends...ran into friends met some new friends and ... I met some wonderful designers and creators ... and ones that I will never ever forget Kiki and Sarah from Kiki Art.. what a great time I had spending with the two of you in your booth doing your make n takes...... I am so proud that there is a Canadian Company like Kiki Art to produce Scrapbooking Supplies... I really can't wait to use the product that I bought.. especially the fun tape... how fun.. Catherine and the Gang from Scrapbook and Cards Today... so glad to have been able to have the chance to talk with you..you are all so very welcoming and inspirational... and thanks to your magazine for all the wonderful ideas.... can't wait to chat with you again sometime..
And then to Sue Sykes.... What a great class.. I enjoyed the workshop the laughs and finally meeting you in real life.. you are such a wonderful person and I am glad that I had the opportunity to have met you...

Time for me to create with the Scrap~tures monthly kit for the reveal which is the April 10th...I had a little bit of trouble.... so I got Little K and took him outside and took his pictures... he is very photogenic however not very co-operative... but I got some great shots of him...Love the natural sun light...here is my favourite...but you have to wait to see the other ones on my layout in the reveal...

I don't feel any older...just a lot wiser.. I have made some pretty big decisions this past year...all for the better of my life.. and I am so proud that I have done this. That is the getting wiser part... I have the best family a girl could ask for. I got woken up by the bestest 2 boys ever with the biggest birthday hugs... and then the phone calls started.. first was from my brother and sister in law on Manitoulin.. and then my parents and then my other brother in Taiwan... and I got to talk to my niece who is 2... thought she would have been sleeping she should have been sleeping.. but she had to wish her Auntie.. a Happy Birthday... I am so Happy she did....
and for my birthday I had a night out with Greg...at the Old Mill restaurant... it was the first time I had ever been there...
and of course I had my camera.. so here is the picture Greg took of me...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Imaginisce March Sketch Challenge....

I created this layout .....

Using.... Imaginisce Teacher's Pet "Wipe that up" Pattern paper and Basic Grey Card stock and Chip board letter.... extra ribbon and my glue glider pro oh and of course some pop dots... on the knots...

I love the 10th of the month... I get to show off scraptures kits and all that I have done with them...
This Kit was Prima - Blooming Retro....
1st I created this layout because I turn 35 this year... I have listed on the back 35 people and things that are important to me...

2nd a layout I created using a sketch from Sketchabilities I used Oct 15 sketch

and let me tell you...that there is sooo sooo much out there for babies today... and I am soo soo glad that I am done with that stage of my life... Don't get me wrong I loved having an infant in the house... but I love the stage that the boys are at now ... along with helping out I got to meet some really nice people... Traci and Tracy from creative simplicity photography.....Laurel with OptiMom...although it was brief... I so can't wait to get to know you better...and Chris... from Kitestrings Marketing...... I wish I could twitter more often for you Chris.. but the blog is going to have to be enough for right now...
And now I have to create for the scraptures reveal.... it is in 4days..... ahhhh 4days...got get moving...

February Project 12 Layout

I had a very relaxing weekend with some very good friends and new friends... we scrapbooked found out connections re the 6 degrees of separation... wow is that ever true...and celebrated life.. it was fun... I love going to crops and learning new things.. as I look at my project 12 last 2 months I am so glad that I have decided to do this project... well here is my layout for February... (I still have some journaling to do but as that is a private part of my life I am not going to be posting it) .....cant wait for the next few months to see how the rest of the year turns out with this project....

I am so looking forward to this weekend... I am going scrapbooking at a retreat with 2 of my girlfriends.... and I am so ready to get stuff done.. I have my pictures printed away we go... all weekend long...
the first thing on my list is the February project 12 layout... and this layout is going to be about Kurt and Mocha.... sooo excited..

I love this project 12... I am going to do it on the family as space out which month is for which family memeber... so the book is about family and not just one person... it is going to be great when it is done...

I love doing these challenges... Scrapshotz is hosting yet another on line crop and while I am sad that Kathy is stepping away as a public scrapbooker... she has inpired me in so many ways.. from her photography classes to her scrapbooking layouts and cards.... I had the opportunity to meet Kathy in real life last year and I hope that it was the our last time our paths will cross...

here is the layout that I created for this challenge... and because I have done so..Scrapshotz will donate $5.00 on my behalf to the RED CROSS.....

I have decided to do the Project 12 Challenge that Scrapbook & Cards Today revealed on their blog December 26 2009, for more information here is a link to their blog.

the thing about this challenge is at the end you will have a scrapbook for 2010 completed.....

Each month... I can sort through the pictures that I take during that month and create a layout from a sketch that is provided.......Here is what I have create with January 2010 project 12 Sketch
I chose these pictures of Kevin that I took on January 1 2010 after he stubbed his toe... Chocolate makes everything better...(And it did and of course I had my camera already to take these pictures... the little ladybug...is actually the wrapper from the chocolate... that he ate...)
